To the Woman Still Waiting: God Sees You, Even in the Silence

Scripture Foundation: “You are the God who sees me.” — Genesis 16:13 (NIV)

There’s a silence only some women understand.

It’s the silence after another negative test.
It’s the silence in the nursery that never needed painting.
It’s the silence at baby showers when you smile through your heartbreak.
It’s the silence when someone else announces their pregnancy—and you whisper “congratulations” while your heart bleeds.

If this is your season… this blog is for you.

I want to say what maybe no one has said to you out loud in a while:
You are not broken.
You are not forgotten.
You are not invisible.

You are seen by the God who hears every unspoken prayer, every tear cried into your pillow, and every hope you buried because hope hurts too much.

You are walking through a wilderness few talk about—especially in a world where timelines are shouted like checklists: “Married by 25. Baby by 30.” And if that’s not your story? The world stares like you’ve missed your cue.

But El Roi, the God who sees, is not bound by timelines. He is not rushing you. He is not punishing you. He is present.

In Genesis 16, we meet a woman named Hagar. She was used, rejected, mistreated—and pregnant. She ran into the desert, unseen and forgotten. But there, in the barren place, God met her. He called her by name. He spoke into her pain. And He gave her a promise.

Overwhelmed, she gave God a name:
El RoiThe God who sees me.

Sis, you might not be in a physical desert, but your soul may feel dry. Barren. Left behind.

And I need you to know: You are not alone in this.

Every month you wait, every moment you ache, every prayer you can barely whisper—He sees it all. And He honors your perseverance.

If no one else is clapping for your courage, heaven is.

If no one else is validating your pain, God already has.

If no one else is lifting your arms, I’m standing with you in spirit.

Maybe motherhood hasn’t happened the way you dreamed.
Maybe you’re walking through loss, or infertility, or just an unfulfilled longing you can’t even put into words.
Maybe you feel ashamed for how much it hurts—when others seem to breeze through motherhood like it’s their birthright.

But here’s the truth: Your womanhood is not defined by a pregnancy. Your worth is not measured by a due date. Your identity is not rooted in what you haven’t received yet.

You are a daughter of the Most High. A warrior in waiting. A queen who keeps showing up even when her heart feels hollow.

God is doing something in the waiting.
Not behind your back, but inside your spirit.
Strength is being forged. Faith is being deepened.
You are not the same woman you were when you started this journey—and that is a beautiful thing.

So today, I pray that peace wraps around you like a soft blanket.
That hope dares to rise again—even just a little.
That your heart feels a little less heavy.
And that you know beyond doubt: God sees you.

He saw Hagar. He sees you. He has not forgotten.
